Galleon sells Super Soccer Star to Brazil, Columbia

Galleon Entertainment has sold its Super Soccer Star format into Brazil and Columbia. The pair of deals mean the series, which is produced in association with top English Premier League football team Chelsea, will break into Latin America for the first time.

UK-based branded entertainment specialist Galleon has already sold the show into the Asia and the Middle East.

In Brazil, rights have been sold to Hugo Varela, a Portuguese sports business entrepreneur. In Columbia, sports marketing company Power Moves is the partner.

The reality series component of the property involves twenty contestants taking part in trials across the country, with the best entering an academy. The best players in the academy are then brought to the UK to train with Chelsea at their own academy in Cobham, Surrey.

“The show continues its phenomenal growth and we are extremely happy to have licensed it into Latin America, which opens up a whole new market for us,” said Len Dunne, managing director, Galleon Holdings.
