Michael Riley to run ABC Family

Former Turner Europe boss and current Radio Disney chief Michael Riley has been hired as president of US cable network ABC Family.

This comes one month after Paul Lee was promoted to president of ABC Entertainment Group overseeing the main network and TV studio.

Riley, who will report to Disney Media Networks co-chair and president, Disney ABC Television Group Anne Sweeney, is currently senior VP and general manager, Radio Disney, which operates a network of 36 radio stations across the United States.

He joined The Walt Disney Company in April 2008 from Turner Broadcasting System, where he was senior VP and general manager in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, looking after the CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TCM, TNT and Adult Swim channels.
