Super RTL acquires raft of int’l series

German kids broadcaster Super RTL has acquired a raft of international series including major US hit Glee.

The move marks a step into family programming for broadcaster, which is a joint venture between the German broadcaster and Hollywood studio Disney, and is one of the first older-skewing series to air on the channel.

It is expected to air the series, which is distributed by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution,  from January 2011 in an 8pm slot on Mondays.

The network has also acquired FremantleMedia Enterprises’ British fantasy series Merlin and NBC Universal’s remake of Knight Rider as well as a raft of movies including Toy Story 2 and Wallace & Gromit’s World of Inventions.
