E1 eyeing acquisitions

UK-listed TV and film producer and distributor E1 Entertainment is actively looking to acquire as part of its expansion plans.

In a trading update the company said: “The Group continues to review potential acquisition targets to both expand into new territories around the world and deliver consolidation opportunities with existing operations.”

It has already acquired a handful of indie TV producers and distributors in Europe, the US and Canada including Barner Alper, Contender and RCV Entertainment.

It did not break out specific financials for different parts of its business, but the company said that TV revenue has more than doubled year-on-year in the quarter to end-June.

The highlight on the TV side was the debut of cop series Rookie Blue on Canadian network Global and its US counterpart ABC. E1 also said that upcoming comedy series Call Me Fitz, starring Jason Priestley, has been delivered and commissioned for second series.

The company recently moved its UK listing from AIM to the Main Market of the LSE.
