Jim Henson’s Dinosaur Train steams into Europe

The Jim Henson Company has secured a raft of European deals for its animated series Dinosaur Train.

The preschool show has been picked up by France 5, YLE in Finland and TG4 in Ireland, all of which have taken free-to-air rights.

Canal+ Poland has also acquired the series and Liberty Global’s content and channels division Chello has bought it across Eastern Europe.

The series has already launched in Latin and North America, on Discovery Kids (Latin America), PBS (US) and TVO and TFO (Canada). Henson has also sold it to E-Vision in the UAE, Hop! In Israel and On Digital Media in South Africa.

The show was created by Craig Bartlett (Hey Arnold)and aims to encourage preschoolers to engage with science through their inherent fascination with dinosaurs and trains.
