Sony launches Crackle internationally

Online video platform Crackle is set to roll out internationally after striking deals to launch in the United Kingdom and Australia.

The Sony Pictures Entertainment-owned network, which airs a mix of original digital productions and online episodes of television series and movies, was previously only available in the United States.

The site airs series including comedies Star-ving, which stars Married with Children’s David Faustino, and Dusty Peacock, fronted by The King of Queens’ Gary Valentine, and technology factual series including The Esquire Digital Man fronted by Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld.

Eric Berger, senior VP, digital networks, Sony Pictures Entertainment, says: “With unmatched premium content, from acclaimed originals to movie favourites, Crackle has built a proven distribution and ad network in the US that we’re replicating now around the world.”
