Ricky Martin’s prodco remaking Zodiak wedding show

RM 5to Elemento, the Latin American production company set up by The Ricky Martin Entertainment Group and Europe-based producer and distributor Zodiak Entertainment, is making its first show for the US Hispanic market.

It is making Back in Wedding Shape (El Peso Del Matrimonio) for Univision-owned cable net Galavisión. The show will be a local version of the format created by Kanakna, the Benelux-based producer acquired by Zodiak in late 2007. It first aired on Belgian free-to-air broadcaster VTM.

The programme follows couples as, with the help of health and beauty experts, they attempt to regain their pre-wedding figures within eight weeks. The slimmed down, made over couples then renew their vows.

RM 5to Elemento, which is also making a Latin version of Zodiak format Fort Boyard, is understood to be close to sealing deals for the show with other Latin broadcasters.
