Fox Look eyes gameshows, Asia

Fox Look, the recently set up formats division of the News Corp-owned broadcaster, is shopping for studio gameshows, scripted reality series and is eyeing a number of formats from Asia.

David Lyle, the former Fox Reality Channel president, told TBIvision that it was looking to take series from the Fox family of channels including FX, Fuel and Nat Geo, as well as eyeing formats from third party producers.

Fox TV Studios recently shot a pilot for US cable network TNT – The Great Escape – an action adventure competition reality series exec produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, that Lyle is considering taking out internationally.

“I’ve also got a desire to see some hybrid studio gameshows but I’ve got no hurry to get into the food business,” he said.

The division will license formats internationally by setting up partnerships with existing international production companies as well as establish new production entities in a number of territories. Lyle is particularly eyeing Asian producers. “I think Asia’s interesting, which others don’t,” he added.
