RTL orders German Strictly come Dancing from ITV

German free-to-air broadcaster RTL has ordered another season of Let’s Dance, the entertainment format based on the Strictly Come Dancing show created by the BBC. ITV Studios will make the German programme.

RTL has already aired two series of Let’s Dance, in which celebrity couples compete against each other performing various dance routines.

Granada Germany will produce eight two-hour fifteen minute episodes, which will start broadcasting on Friday April 9 at 9.15pm.

Tom Saenger, executive of entertainment at RTL Television said: “Let’s Dance supplements our music shows Deutschland sucht den Superstar (Pop Idol) und Das Supertalent (Britain’s got Talent) in an excellent way.”
