NHK merging NEP and MICO

Japanese public broadcaster NHK is merging its production and international divisions.

Production unit NHK Enterprises (NEP) will unify with Media International Corporation (MICO) from April. NHK said the new structure will “organically bring together NEP’s ability to create and distribute content and MICO’s international business know-how”.

The combined production and distribution unit will have responsibility for areas including international coproductions and international program sales and acquisitions.
