Galleon inks fashion format deal with IMG

UK media company and rights holder Galleon Entertainment has inked a deal with IMG for its fashion format Super Fashion Stars.

This follows the success of Galleon’s international sports format Super Soccer Star, which was a big hit in China.

IMG, which is a big player in the fashion industry and represents models including Kate Moss and Gisele, will secure talent for and distribute the format internationally.

Super Fashion Stars aims to find new fashion designers, stylists and models and will be produced in association with the Fashion Fringe event in London, which is part of London Fashion Week. A traditional reality series will be complemented by a range of online and mobile spin offs and live events. It will be rolled out internationally later this year, beginning in China.

This move comes as Galleon, which is run by chief executive Stephen Green, announced its latest annual financial results. The company increased revenue to £27.1 million, a rise of 123% from last year’s £12.1 million, and saw profits before tax rise by 60% to £1.4 million.
