Lionsgate hires ex-ITV exec Peter Iacono as international chief

US producer and distributor Lionsgate has hired former Sony and ITV exec Peter Iacono director of international television.

He will replace Craig Cegielski, who left Lionsgate to set up the TV arm of The Departed producer Graham King’s production company GK-Films.

Iacono was previously president and managing director of ITV Global Entertainment, where he worked for 16 months before his role was no longer deemed viable.

He will distribute dramas including Mad Men, Weeds and Crash, Spike TV’s scripted comedy Blue Mountain State and reality shows including Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. He will also oversee international format sales and production.

Iacono, who previously worked in global distribution at Sony Pictures Television International, will report to Kevin Beggs, president of television programming and production.
