Tellem steps down as CBS Entertainment president

Nancy Tellem has stepped down as president of CBS Television Entertainment Group.

The Viacom-owned network boss is to move into a new role as senior adviser to the CEO from January 2010. She will step back from day-to-day operations and explore opportunities in the US and internationally involving content deals, new production models and new technology.

She will continue to oversee CBS’ involvement in youth skewing network The CW, which is a joint venture with Warner Bros Entertainment.

“This is a new role in a fast-changing landscape for a very gifted executive,” said CBS Corporation president and CEO Les Moonves.

Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios, will now oversee the business.
