Disney UK launches RDF-produced HSM spin off

Disney Channel UK is set to launch a local production based around its High School Musical franchise after inking a deal with RDF Media-owned indie producer The Foundation.

This marks the first time that RDF has been commissioned by the pay TV kids broadcaster.

The two companies will launch Club High School Musical: Make It Happen, which will air as a weekly series of 4x15mins episodes, that follows the story of four fans of the original TV movies who must set up their own High School Musical events in just four days. The show, which will air in November, will be presented by former Fame Academy choreographer Kevin Adams.

This follows the success of High School Musical, which is set to launch its fourth installment next year.
