RDF’s US Secret Millionaire lands at ABC

US network ABC has ordered a new season of Secret Millionaire from RDF USA. The first season of the unscripted format went out on Fox at the end of last year where it won four of its six timeslots, but it will now shift to ABC.

The show is based on the RDF UK format The Secret Millionaire, which has proved popular on free-to-air channel Channel 4. The US show follows wealthy individuals as they swap their millionaire lifestyles to spend time in some of America’s poorest neighbourhoods, giving away their own cash in the process.

RDF USA CEO Chris Ceolen wll executive produce the US series alongside Clare O’Donohoe.

“This is a format we’re extremely proud of and ABC is a wonderful home for the show,” Coelen said.

ABC already airs the RDF format Wife Swap and will air upcoming show Find My Family.
