Fiver inks raft of US deals

Fiver, the digital terrestrial channel operated by British commercial broadcaster Five, has acquired a raft of US series for its autumn line up including the remake of Knight Rider and MTV’s The Hills’ spin off The City.

The digital broadcaster has inked a deal with NBC Universal Television Distribution for 18x45mins series Knight Rider, which starred Justin Bruening and the voice of Val Kilmer, that aired on NBC last year.

It has also picked up MTV Networks International’s 13x30mins The City, which stars The Hills’ Whitney Port as she moves from Los Angeles to New York; Disney ABC ESPN Television’s 10 Things I Hate About You, the 10x30mins remake of the Heath Ledger film that airs on ABC Family in the United States and DCD Media’s 23x1hour reality series Bridezilla, which airs on WE TV.

The network has also recommissioned The Sexy Ad Show, where comedian Spencer Brown highlights the sauciest adverts.
