Carl Hall takes full control of Parthenon

Carl Hall has taken full control of UK indie producer and distributor Parthenon after buying back a stake from private equity company Arkaga, which has entered administration.

Arkaga owned a majority stake in the factual and kids specialist having bought in, for an undisclosed sum, in late 2007. A Parthenon spokesman said that there are no new investors in the company.

Hall, the ex-managing director of HIT Entertainment’s now defunct HIT Wildlife arm, started Parthenon in 2002 and its catalogue now stretches to 1,200hrs.

Following the injection of cash from Arkaga, which already owned rights owner Entara, Parthenon expanded into kids programming and acquired a stake in Canadian producer Arcadia Entertainment.

The trading assets of Parthenon Entertainment Group will now be part of a new entity, Parthenon Media Group, wholly owned by Hall.
