Orange France plans online TV site

Orange is understood to be planning to launch an online video-on-demand site where it will make recent archive shows available.

Orange plans to launch the new site, to be named Welles after Orson Welles, by the end of the year.

Jean-Louis Constanza, CEO of Orange’s subsidiary in charge of new ventures, Orange Vallée, said that it would offer advertising-supported streaming of older TV shows and some movies, as well as consumer-generated and social networking features.
