Entertainment Rights rebranded as Classic Media

Kids producer Entertainment Rights is to be rebranded as Classic Media following its sale to US private equity-backed rights company Boomerang Media.

The US and UK arms of Entertainment Rights, which produced and distributed series including Postman Pat, were sold to Boomerang Media last month after ER went into administration following financial troubles.

Boomerang Media is run by Classic Media founders Eric Ellenbogen and John Engelman.

Classic Media, which operates the intellectual property rights to Richie Rich, Casper The Friendly Ghost and Lassie, was sold to Entertainment Rights in 2006 for US$211 million.
