Warners shops package to Japanese movie channel

Japanese movie channel, Movie Plus, has acquired a package of 80 feature films.

Under the terms of a three-year deal, agreed with Warners distribution arm Warner Bros. International Television, the Japanese channel gets rights to a slew of recent titles and those from the Warner Bros Entertainment Collection.

Titles in the package include The Departed and Blood Diamond as well as older titles including The Bodyguard and The Goonies.

Movie Plus is owned by Jupiter Entertainment, the content arm of cabler J:COM, which is in turn backed by John Malone Liberty Global.
