Fox Channels Italy launches crime thriller

Fox Channel Italy has commissioned local indie producer Wilder to produce a six part miniseries Il Mostro di Firenze (The Monster of Florence).

The broadcaster, which is operated by News Corp-owned thematic channel operator Fox International Channels, will launch the channel on satellite pay TV channel Fox Crime later this year, before distributing the series internationally across its range of networks.

The 6x1hour series looks at the story of Italy’s most notorious serial killer and is based on screenplay Romanzo Criminale, by Daniele Cesarano, Barbara Petronio and Leonardo Valenti, which follows the 20 year investigation of the murders that took place in the countryside outside of Florence between 1968 and 1985.

The series, which has just started shooting in Turin, is produced by Rome-based producer Wilder, which is part owned by Fox International Channels. Wilder is known for scripted series including Boris, Donne Assassine and Non Pensarci.
