Kandola exits ITV

ITV’s director of acquisitions Jay Kandola is leaving the UK commercial broadcaster. ITV has made swingeing staff cuts in recent months and Kandola will depart in June.

TBIvision reported in early March that Kandola’s position was under threat as part of the ITV cost cutting program. Kandola didn’t attend MIP.

ITV said in a statement: “Jay Kandola will be stepping down from her role as ITV’s Director of Acquisitions in June as part of ITV’s restructuring programme. She joined ITV three years ago from Five where she held a similar post. Her departure comes as a result of acquisitions playing a lesser role on ITV in the coming years.”

ITV spokesman James MacLeod said a new channels and acquisition structure will be announced in due course. ITV embarked on a 90-day consultation period with numerous staff on March 5 and the new structure is likely to become clear when this ends in early June.
