David Smyth leaves Sky One, joins Fox

Sky One head of acquisitions David Smyth has left the pay broadcaster and has been appointed as vice president, sales, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.

Smith also oversaw acquisitions for Sky’s other entertainment channels. He was responsible for acquiring hit shows including Lost and Fringe.

In his new role he will look after program sales for Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution across Europe. He will also be responsible for coproductions and scripted formats.

Smyth will report to Yoni Cohen senior VP, international development and sales and Steve Cornish, senior VP and managing director, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution
