Breakthrough Entertainment has inked a pair of deals with Discovery, selling it factual series Greatest Tank Battles and animated kids show My Big Big Friend.
Speaking to TBIvision at NATPE, Breakthrough Entertainment head of distribution Nat Abraham revealed that My Big Big Friend has been picked up by Discovery Kids Latin America, marking the first deal for the Brazil-originated series. The 52x11mins 2D show is being produced by Breakthrough Animation and Brazil’s 2D Lab for Canadian kids broadcaster Treehouse.
Meanwhile, Discovery International has acquired Greatest Tank Battles, a CGI-heavy factual series in which famous tank battles are recreated. The 10x1hr show, which is in pre-production, was developed by Breakthrough TV for History Channel in Canada and will deliver next year.
Discovery has pre-bought the show for a host of international territories, but Breakthrough still has rights for Australia and parts of Asia.
Meanwhile, as well as looking for additional deals for My Big Big Friend and Greatest Tank Battles, Breakthrough will present a trio of new factual shows at MIP TV. It has a 4x1hr series Science of the Senses, 13x30mins doc Stay Tooned and Mini-Monsters of Amazonia.
