Sony acquires Columbian format Love’s Roulette

Sony Pictures has acquired the international rights to a Columbian entertainment format Love’s Roulette.

The US studio and its international distribution arm inked a deal with Columbian production company Si Hay Ideas, which is owned by Teleset, for the dating format.

The show is a studio based dating game show that tests the compatibility of one person with three contestants as they ask answers a series of challenges and tasks.

2waytraffic, the formats company recently acquired by Sony, will handle sales for the format.

Columbia has been a hit factory for international formats in recent years. As well as ABC’s smash hit Ugly Betty, which was adapted from the RCN format Betty La Fea, NBC is in development with a local version of Caracol telenovela Sin Senos no hay Paraíso. Fox gameshow Moment of Truth, which was created by Howard Schultz, was also debuted in Columbia before it broadcast in the States. The show, which is distributed by ShineReveille International, airs as Nada más que la verdad (Nothing But the Truth).
