Virgin Media picks up ShineReveille’s Tim

UK cable operator Virgin Media has acquired ShineReveille’s quirky animated comedy The Life and Times of Tim.

This marks one of the first major deals by UK broadcasters for US Hollywood studio content. Apart from pay TV broadcaster Sky One’s acquisition of Warner Bros’ sci fi series Fringe, there have been no other major deals announced.

Virgin Media, which operates a range of channels including digital terrestrial channel Virgin1, female skewing Living and male skewing Bravo, will likely air the show later this year.

The Life and Times of Tim, which is produced by Media Rights Capital, airs on cable network HBO. It follows the adventures of New York slacker Tim, who skates through life, unable to ever make the right decision. It was created by Steve Dildarian, who was the co-creator of the Budweiser Lizards TV commercial.
