Chris Albrecht, the former HBO chief executive, has left global talent agency and entertainment company IMG less than twelve months after his appointment.
Albrecht was appointed head of IMG Global Media in September and was to be in charge of a $250m media and entertainment investment fund. However, the credit crunch and the bursting of the private equity bubble meant that the company was unable to raise this much.
IMG Worldwide CEO Ted Forstmann and Albrecht said in a joint statement: “However, market conditions intervened to frustrate that goal.”
Albrecht, who was responsible for producing shows such as Sex and the City and The Sopranos, will rejoin Foresee Entertainment the independent production company he set up before joining IMG. Foresee Entertainment’s web domain – www.foreseeentertainment.com – is currently owned by IMG Worldwide (see link)
