ITV commissions dance series

ITV has commissioned a new Saturday night entertainment format – Everybody Dance Now – from UK indie producer Talent TV.

The show will showcase a variety of hit dance crazes from Saturday Night Fever to Thriller, recreating the moves with an audience of dancers and encouraging viewers to take part.

The series is Talent TV’s first commission since the hire of Jonathan Glazier as director of entertainment.

The show will be exec produced by Glazier and Victoria Ashbourne (The Graham Norton Effect) and was commissioned by ITV1 controller of music and events Guy Freeman.

The trend of dance shows sees no signs of diminishing; as well as the success of shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and its international spin off Dancing With The Stars, MTV has produced two seasons of hit series Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew.

Talent will also distribute the international rights to the show.
