Fox to pilot US version of La Lola

US network Fox has confirmed that it will produce a pilot based on Dori Media’s hit novela La Lola.

This follows Sony Pictures Television International’s purchase of the English language formats rights to the show in February.

La Lola, which follows the womanizing journalist Lalo who has a spell cast over him turning him into a woman, is produced by Dori Media’s Argentinean production subsidiary Dori Media Contenidos and sold by its international distribution arm. It was created by Underground Productions’ Sebastian Ortega.

The US pilot will be exec produced by Kevin Falls, one of the producers of hit political drama The West Wing.

La Lola has been sold across the world including into France, Spain, Germany and across Latin America, but this marks the first time Dori has sold the format rights to one of its novelas to a major US network.
