Fox to make local version of Little Mosque

US studio 20th Century Fox TV is to make a local version of hit Canadian comedy Little Mosque on the Prairie after inking a format deal with producer and distributor Westwind.

The show, which follows the lives of a group of small town mosque goers, airs on CBC in Canada and is currently in production of its third series. The finished programme has already been sold to Canal+ (France) and YLE (Finland), while French production company is also producing a two hour TV movie for Canal+.

Mary Darling, executive producer and Westwind Pictures boss, announced the deal at the Banff World Television Festival in Canada.
