ABC to coproduce Scorpion Island

Australian public broadcaster ABC is to coproduce BBC kids reality series Escape From Scorpion Island after it inked a deal with producer and distributor RDF.

The second and third series of the show, which puts kids aged 11-to-14-years old on a desert island and forces them to compete in teams to conquer and escape from it, will be filmed in Australia with a mixture of kids from Britain and Australia. The first season was filmed in Brazil.

The show, which will be produced by RDF Media and BBC-owned Australian production company Freehand, will shoot this summer and air later this year.
