Lightworks scores new commissions

US indie producer Lightworks has scored a number of major drama and factual commissions, including one for the BBC.

Lightworks will produce Florence Nightingale, a one hour drama based on the nurse’s letters and diaries, for BBC One.

The company has also received the green light for two projects for The History Channel and one for Smithsonian Networks. It is making Clash of the Cavemen, a two hour anthropological special and a new season of Mega Disasters, a six part series of global catastrophes, for The History Channel.

It has also been commissioned to make The Sweet Lady with the Nasty Voice, a feature length documentary about rockabilly singer Wanda Jackson, for the Smithsonian Network.
