Logo acquires travel series Bump

MTV’s gay and lesbian network Logo has acquired travel series Bump from Canadian producer and distributor Peace Point Entertainment as the channel looks to ramp up its international expansion.

The broadcaster has picked up the 65x30mins series that follows homosexual human interest stories around the world and focuses on gay and lesbian communities in cities such as London, Miami and Los Angeles.

The show airs on OutTV in Canada and the Netherlands and has also been sold to Pink TV in France and Spain’s Ono.

Logo, which bowed in 2005 in the United States, is one of MTV Network’s most successful recent channel launches and is expected to be rolled out internationally over the next 24 months.

Peace Point has also inked a deal with German mobile distributor Ohm:TV, which plans to launch the series across a number of mobile TV platforms. Les Tomlin, president and CEO of Peace Point says that Ohm: TV is paying “a few hundred Euros per half hour”. This is significant as mobile operators and internet platforms move away from only offering revenue share agreements and ink traditional licensing deals.
