Imira looks to live action

Spanish producer and distributor Imira Entertainment is ramping its live action content to take advantage of the post-High School Musical kids landscape.

The company is expanding out of its animation roots, distributing shows such as Noddy and Clifford The Big Red Dog. "We are developing a live action project that we’re hoping to launch the financing of just before the summer. We’re no longer just animation, we’re moving in to live action," said Christophe Goldberger, head of distribution.

However, as well as distributing a number of third party live action series such as ZDF’s Weird Science, the company is taking three animation series to Mip TV; 78x7mins Tangerine and Cow, which is produced by Normaal Animation for France 3, Maga Animation’s Go!Go!Pig, produced for Italy’s Rai and Stranemani’s Rat-Man, which has already been sold to Italy’s Rai, Portugal’s RTP and HBO Asia.
