Women Rule the World at Channel 4

UK commercial free-to-air broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a local version of US entertainment format When Women Rule the World. The reality show pitches contestants into a primitive location and then puts the women in charge of the new society.

The 8x60mins series will have a budget of £2.5 million ($5 million) and be produced by DCD Media’s September Films. It will be fronted by Welsh presenter Steve Jones and set in a Caribbean village.

The Rocket Science Laboratories show is scheduled to air on US network Fox this June. The UK show, greenlit by Channel 4 commissioning editor, entertainment, Andy Auerbach, will have a peak time slot and will start later this year.
