NBC Universal to launch UK Law & Order

NBC Universal is set to launch a local version of legal drama Law & Order for UK commercial broadcaster ITV.

The Hollywood studio is in talks with UK production company Kudos, which is owned by Shine, to make the series.

This will be the studio’s first local production since it launched the London production office in October 2007, headed by former NBC Universal Television Studio president Angela Bromstad.

ITV is expected to commission 13 episodes of the series, which follows local versions of the Dick Wolf created procedural drama in France and Russia, after it unveiled a revamp of its primetime schedule.
