Record’s Opposite Lives goes Spanish

Rede Record prepares Spanish version of Opposite Lives

Brazilian broadcaster Rede Record is prepping a Spanish version of its hit telenovela Vidas Opostas (Opposite Lives).

The show, which follows the fortunes of a millionaire who returns to Brazil to court a young lady who lives in a slum and is the former girlfriend of the area’s chief drug trafficker, has recorded substantial audience ratings in Brazil. The programme has helped the channel steal a march on rival broadcaster SBT and take second place behind ratings leader TV Globo.

Delmar Andrade, international sales director at Rede Record, says: "We’re preparing the Spanish dubbing and soon we will start to close the deals."
