TiTAN Platform launches ‘unifying’ content hub in US

Adrian Sexton croppedTiTAN Platform, a smart content and device firm led in the US by former Endemol Shine executive Adrian Sexton, has launched a transactional content platform in the US for the first time, securing deals with Vubiquity and TV4 Entertainment in the process.

The TiTAN Play service allows content owners and creators to upload SVOD channels directly into the home.

The deals with content aggregator Vubiquity and online channels operator TV4 means TiTAN users will have access to libraries of premium content that includes Hollywood blockbusters and indie films; and access to TV4’s niche-based OTT channels and original productions.

A further deal with Frequency will give consumers access to TV and multichannel networks.

TiTAN Play is billed as an ‘encrypted, transactional content platform’ available in the US. This is designed to let content owners securely upload their IP and access consumers through a “secure content marketplace”.

“The time has come for content, platforms, networks and devices to be unified,” said Jae Young Yoon, founder of TiTAN Platform Corporation Korea. “We will continue to expand our business here in the US and around the world providing smart services that will help users be more connected to their content and smart home devices.

“Backed by our TCI patented encryption technology, we have created a secure ecosystem through which consumers can safely integrate their entire home through one device, and content producers can reach viewers on a highly transactional platform that protects their intellectual property.”

TiTAN Platform is also launching a ‘pro version’ of its TiTAN Core smart hub, which is designed to offer a “lean-back living room experience” that connects with Internet of Things (IoT) devices and appliances.

The TiTAN Core 5 platform has been made available from this week in the US and can be bought online at the TiTAN shop and through selected retailers, like Indiegogo’s new ecommerce marketplace and at b8ta stores in Santa Monica, San Francisco and San Jose.

TiTAN Platform said that a new, mass market and basic version of the TiTAN Core line for “big box retailers” will also be released with wide distribution before the end of the year.

“With TiTAN Play and Core, we are creating a new ‘OS for the Home’ – a unified ecosystem that provides a smarter content experience and device connectivity,” said Sexton, CEO of TiTAN Platform US.

“Consumers are increasingly buying smart IoT devices to improve their lives, yet few of these devices truly talk with each other. TiTAN Core’s open platform changes that and does it with security being paramount.

“With TiTAN Play, content creators and studios will be able to monetise their content with a major access point in China – a difficult entry market for YouTube, Netflix, Facebook and Amazon – thanks to our joint venture with China Unicom, a top Chinese telecom.“

TiTAN Platform initially rolled-out in Asia across Korea, Singapore and China under the leadership of founder and chairman Jae Young Yoon.

It now has offices in the US, South Korea, Singapore and China, and its US operations are being led by Sexton, who previously worked at Endemol Shine, Participant Media and Lionsgate Entertainment.
