Warner Bros. int’l exec exits after 42 years

Warner Bros. is saying goodbye to one of its longest-serving international executives.

Richard FoxRichard Fox has been with the Burbank studio for 42 years, spending the last quarter of a century as executive VP of international.

He will leave this summer, according to Warner Bros. Entertainment chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara, who made the announcement.

Fox has spent almost his entire career in Warner’s film division, leading the Time Warner-owned studio’s local language film operations.

Significantly, he was a key player in establishing Warner Bros. relationship with Chinese media giant CMG (fka China Media Capital), which led to the formation of joint venture Flagship Entertainment.

“Anywhere you go in the world, people in the film business love and respect Richard,” said Tsujihara. “He knows the markets, he knows the players and he’s been an incredible executive and ambassador for the company.

“For more than 40 years, he has been at the forefront of our efforts to establish the Studio as a global entertainment leader. I thank him for his many contributions to the company and join his Warner Bros. colleagues around the world in wishing him all the best.”
