Tribe reaches 1 million downloads

Digital-headertribeAstro Malaysian-owned online video streaming service Tribe has reached the one million downloads milestone.

The over-the-top service launched a year ago, is available in Indonesia and the Philippines, and claims that 80% of its users are under the age of 35.

The service offers Korean drama and music through deals with Oh!K, K-PLUS, KBS and TvN.

It also has sports content from Fox Sports and aggregates digital-first, short-form content.

“As Tribe celebrates its first anniversary, we are pleased to achieve one million app downloads amidst fierce competition in our markets,” said Tribe CEO Iskandar Samad.

“We are thankful to our partners and end users for their continued support, and we expect growth to continue being robust over the coming year.”

Tribe is currently priced at IDR15,000 (US$1.12) in Indonesia and PHP69 (US$1.37) in Philippines for a monthly subscription.
