Squeeze sells Cracké to Viacom

Kids-headercrackeCanadian animation studio Squeeze has shopped its shortform animated series Cracké to Viacom18 in India, which will put it out on the local Nickelodeon channel and the Voot streaming service.

The family-skewed series goes out on the Teletoon channel in Canada and follows Ed, an anxious ostrich dad trying to protect a batch of eggs.

The 52x1mins series was made by Québec City-based Squeeze for Teletoon and utilising several regional funds and credits.

Squeeze also sells the show and struck the Viacom deal.

Nina Elavia Jaipuria, head of kids entertainment at Viacom18, said: “Kids in India love comedy and Cracké, with its short duration format, unique animation style and adorable characterisation, is sure to provide them with an immersive experience.”

Denis Doré, Squeeze’s president and co-founder added: “It’s very rewarding to realise that Cracké will make kids laugh around the world on a renowned and leading TV network such as Nickelodeon.”
