Canadian LGBT net buys The Collection

Scripted-logo-460_2The-Collection1Canadian specialty net Out TV has acquired The Collection, Amazon and France Télévisions’ period fashion drama.

The series was part-funded by BBC Worldwide, which sells it internationally and struck the Canadian deal.

LGBTQ-skewed pay TV net Out TV has first-window rights to the show, which was made by Worldwide-backed UK prodco Lookout Point and Pascal Breton’s French indie, Federation Entertainment.

Out TV will launch the show this spring.

“We are very excited to bring The Collection to Canada,” said Brad Danks, CEO of Out TV. “The Collection is an original, stylish series that will resonate with Canadian audiences.”

Michael L. Smith, senior VP content sales and coproductions at BBC Worldwide North America said Out TV had “proven, both with their channel and now their new service, Out TV Go, to be a great partner to work with”.

“We know they have a strong reach in the market, and this incredible series is sure to captivate their audience,” he added.

Out TV underwent management and ownership changes earlier this year.
