European deals for Curvy Supermodel format

The show was launched internationally at MIPCOM and has sold into several territories since, with Mediaset España the latest buyer. In France, FremantleMedia has optioned the format.

Spanish media giant Mediaset España has taken the finished version of the show and will put it out on its female-skewed digital channel Divinity. FremantleMedia France, meanwhile, will pitch a local version of the show to French channels.

The series originated in Germany, where Tresor TV made it for the RTLII net.

One of a clutch of new formats that attempt to redefine notions of beauty, Curvy Supermodel is a modelling talent competition that does not discriminate against women with fuller figures, or body shapes outside the typical modelling range.

Armoza Formats distributes the show and has got deals away in Poland and the Netherlands since MIPCOM.

Curvy Supermodel is a highly impactful show that focuses on a very real and relevant issue, while bringing the topic of society’s unrealistic expectations to a positive and engaging format,” said Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats. “We are thrilled to be bringing it to two new countries and look forward to its continued growth internationally.”
