Netflix greenlights Cameron Dallas series

Formats-logo-460_2Netflix’s latest original programme is an unscripted series featuring social media star Cameron Dallas.

The untitled series will follow Dallas, who has more than 35 million followers across five platforms, as he tries to take his career to the next level.

It will feature his friends and families, exposing the stark contrast between public persona online and his personal life.
Dallas, who describes himself as a model, actor and entrepreneur, created a global talent touring company, Magcon, which looks to identify and develop new social media talent.

He first became known for comic Vine videos, and went on to star in a movie for AwesomenessTV and episodes of NBC thriller American Odyssey.

Tinopolis-owned Magical Elves (Top Chef) and Brillstein Entertainment are attached to coproduce, with Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth from the former and Ben Curtis, Sanford Wernick and Jon Liebman from the latter executive producers along with Dallas.

Netflix ordered its first reality series, Ultimate Beastmaster, last month. The Sylvester Stallone-produced show will see competitors attempting to beat a challenging assault course.
