Mattel exec joins Robot Chicken prodco

Marge Dean has joined Robot Chicken prodco Stupid Buddy Stoodios as general manager.

Dean (pictured) joins from Mattel’s production banner Playground, where she was director of production.

She is one of the most seasoned US execs in animation having also worked at Wildbrain Animation, Technicolor, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros Animation.

Stupid Buddy, which was cofounded by actor Seth Green, is best known for Adult Swim series Robot Chicken. Its slate of new shows includes Crackle series SuperMansion, a new Bratz series and web shows Camp WWE and WWE Slam City.

“Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is committed to strategic expansion and we realise that you’re only as good as your senior executive team leading the charge with the best new projects,” said Stupid Buddy’s founders in a statement.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about Marge joining the League of Buddies. She’s an incredibly accomplished leader in the animation community and her vast knowledge and experience will pave the way for us to enter exciting new frontiers.”

Marge Dean added: “I’m excited to be involved in expanding the reach of the studio into more 2D and 3D animation and to help bring that special Stoopid Buddies’ sensibility across all mediums.”
