Fox launching new channel in Korea

Zubin GandeviaFox International Channels has partnered with South Korea’s JTBC to launch a new Fox Sports channel in the country.

JTBC operates a cable pay TV service in Korea, which will carry the joint venture channel, JTBC3 Fox Sports.

It will be programmed with international and local sport. The international fare will include coverage of the German Bundesliga football league, Formula One and the Wimbledon and French Open tennis championships.

FIC said the roll out of the new channel will herald a ‘new era in sports broadcasting in South Korea’, and is part of its wider plans to localise its offering in Asia.
