AMC, Discovery Lat Am score Cineflix shows

Angry PlanetAMC Networks Iberia and Discovery Networks Latin America are among buyers of programming from UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights.

AMCN Iberia’s deal, which covers Spain and Portugal, hands the broadcaster the 10x30mins Angry Planet (pictured), Battle Factory, Ocean Vet and 1,000 Days For the Planet.

AMCN Latin America has also tapped Cineflix for new content. It has bought Colin and Justin’s Home Heist seasons one and two, while A+E Networks Latin America acquired Border Security Canada.

Discovery Networks Latin America has acquired South African hipster food series Food, Booze & Tattoos, which comes from Hive Content, season three of Wives with Knives and Trauma Investigators seasons two and three. Italy’s De Agostini has also bought Food, Booze & Tattoos.

Portugal’s SIC has acquired Celebrity Legacies for celebrity-themed network SIC Caras.

“The growth of pan-regional broadcasters extending their reach into new and existing regions is one of the current trends we’re seeing in the industry,” said Chris Bonney, CEO of rights at Cineflix Media.
