CBC in ITV’s Shadows

Canada’s CBC has bought in ITV drama Chasing Shadows as local budget cuts force the public broadcaster to turn to overseas acquisitions.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment-sold Chasing Shadows follows an eccentric detective who tries to find missing people before serial killers get to them.

It will sit alongside Australian dramas Secrets and Lies and Janet King and BBC/SundanceTV copro The Honourable Woman in CBC’s midseason schedule.

This acquisitions come after the CBC lost lucrative broadcast rights to NHL hockey games to commercial rival Rogers Media.
