Barcroft-Media-carsBarcroft Media is launching Barcroft Cars, a new automobile-focused online channel, TBI has learned.

Barcroft, which produces and distributes content and runs a suite of successful online channels, will programme the new service with car-themed long and short-form content, including restoration projects, entertaining car enthusiasts and other vehicle-based factual programming.

The line-up will include original short form series Rust to Riches, which follows a London based father and son team that renovates million pound supercars for City high flyers.

Barcroft said the roll out of the Cars channel will be the first in a series of forthcoming digital channel launches.

“I’m really excited to announce the first of our new channel launches,” said Barcroft Media creative director Alex Morris. “There’s huge demand from our global audience for exclusive and exciting car content so we’re creating surprising, shareable content from across the world of automotive to power Barcroft Cars, a unique new factual entertainment channel.”

Barcroft recently launched long-form content on its online channels, streaming new docs live twice a week in a 7pm slot. Former ITV producer Adam Mudditt joined the London-based company ahead of the push into online long-form programming.

The Online Barcroft TV service recently passed the 640 million viewer mark on YouTube. It has over 670,000 subscribers.
