ITV Studios cuts deal with talent agency

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has agreed a development and distribution deal with management business Company 42.

42 is a scripted development and packaging business formed last year by former ICM agents Kate Buckley and Josh Varney alongside producers Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh.

Buckley’s roster of clients includes Michael Caine, Rhys Ifans, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Emily Mortimer, Jonny Lee Miller and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

42 also reps writers including Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin), Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty), Dominic Minghella (Doc Martin) and Noel Clarke (Kidulthood).

Having started out with a focus on features, 42 is expanding into TV. The deal with ITV will see the partners work on developing new scripted projects with ITV Studios GE handling international sales of commissioned shows.

Ruth Clarke, director of acquisitions and coproductions, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with 42 to develop strong dramas for international distribution. Their track record in quality film production, coupled with their impressive on and off screen talent roster gives the company a real edge as they move into television.”

Rory Aitken at 42 said: “We are thrilled to partner with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to create high end dramas with exceptional talent from both film and TV.”
